Club History
Cottesloe Tennis Club has been established for over 100 years and is one of the oldest in Western Australia. It began in early 1903 with 2 bitumen courts in Irvine Street, Peppermint Grove. The club relocated in 1924 the corner of Marine Parade and Warnham Street, with four courts and a small club house. As the club grew, it moved to its present home in 1938 to the corner of Broome and Napier Streets where it established fifteen courts. In 2017, the club expanded once again, and now has 10 lighted hard courts and 27 stunning grass courts.
Cottesloe Tennis Club is proud to have hosted the Davis Cup playoff match between Australia and Uzbekistan in 2014. We are confident that our home crowd enthusiasm played a factor in Australia’s win!
Details of the Club’s history can be found in the book “Our Club – A History of the Cottesloe Tennis Club” by Pat Adamson published by Hawthorn Press in 1992 (ISBN 0 646 12548 6)

Using the Straight-edged Sweepers
Click here to view video showing how to use our new 2m-wide water sweepers in the most efficient way to clear water from the courts. This video shows 2 people sweeping together in tandem to clear the courts very quickly.
- These sweepers move the water to the side as you walk - unlike the traditional sweepers that move the water in front of you
- It is important to keep the sweeper angled so the water is moved ‘downhill’ - for our courts this is to the north and west
